Can You Really Earn Money Online With Swagbucks?

Well that, my friends, is the question you are asking, if you landed on this page. The truth is that you will earn money online using Swagbucks It will not make you rich by any means; however, it requires no investment at all and is a great little side hustle.

You get paid via Swagbucks, which you can convert for a range of gift cards or for a Paypal cashout. The current rate at the time of writing this is 800SB for £5.00.

There are seven main ways + bonus ways to earn money online from Swagbucks, and I will show you them below.

Steps:

1. Shop

2. Watch

3. Answer

4. Discover

5. Search

6. Play

7. Apps

Step 1: Shop

If you are like me and love shopping online, then this step is a great way for you to earn money online, as on selected websites you can get a small kickback for every £1.00 you spend on that site.

For instance, I am obsessed with chocolate, and one of my favourite brands of chocolate is Thorntons. If I purchase my chocolate from Thorntons website, then I can earn 12SB (Swagbucks) per £1.00 spent. With the current exchange rate that would meant that I would be getting approximately just under 8p per £1.00 spent.

Now I know what you are thinking: 8p is a small amount of money to earn online. But if you were going to purchase chocolate to munch on anyway, then why not make it a little sweeter with a Swagbucks rebate!

Thorntons is not the only website on the list, you can earn swagbucks for shopping at virtually most major retailers online.

Remember!

Hit up the shop step to get paid for shopping!

Step 2: Watch

One of the simplest ways to earn money online with Swagbucks is via their 'Watch' section on the website. This is where you can earn Swagbucks simply by watching video playlists.

There is a wide variety of playlists to suit every taste, on subjects ranging from world news right down to cooking and fitness.

There are three sets of playlists;

  1. Earn 1SB for watching 6 x videos
  2. Earn 2SB for watching 12 x videos
  3. Earn 3SB for watching 20 x videos

Now obviously common sense would tell you to view the first two sets (despite them paying the same per video), as you are essentially getting paid less Swagbucks per video for the third set.

Watching the videos is a slow but almost passive way of earning Swagbucks, as you can have them running in a separate tab; this allows you to complete some of the other tasks shown further down on this page. Letting the videos play passively will unfortunately mean that earning your Swagbucks will take longer, as when a video has played a percentage of its time then you are able to skip it.

For me personally I use the watch section passively so that it can supplement my Swagbucks earning through the additional means below.

Step 3: Answer

This step is one of the quicker ways for you to earn money online via Swagbucks, The reason for this is that most surveys pay far more for your time, than say watching videos.

The answer section on Swagbucks is split into two categories;

  1. Gold Surveys
  2. Peanut Labs Surveys

Gold Surveys can pay anything up to £2.00 per survey. I would say that the average is 50p per survey. This, I appreciate, is not a massive amount of money for your time, but with consistent participation in the surveys can lead to Swagbucks racking up in your balance pretty sharpish. Some of the gold surveys operate a screening system: this is simply to ensure that you fall into their target audience.

Some surveys will screen you out, as you do not fall into their target audience, because of this you can sometimes become quite frustrated, however I implore you to not give up, as the screening process can switch you onto a different survey for the same value of Swagbucks.

The difference between Gold Surveys, and Peanut Labs Surveys is that the latter tends to pay less per survey. However I find from my own personal experience that you encounter less screening issues from Peanut Labs Surveys.

With the surveys please remember to answer honestly, as most of the surveys have a quality control aspect worked into them. This may be in the way of repeating a question further down the line, to ensure that the same answer is given, or asking you to select a certain number or answer during multiple choice to make sure that you are not answering on auto pilot.

The other reason to answer honestly is simply that your opinion matters, the companies that are paying for these surveys, genuinely want to know your opinion on anything from a movie trailer to the design of packaging on a packet of biscuits.

Step 4: Discover

The discover section on Swagbucks is a great way to earn money online, as it has no ceiling limit, and can have some very high paying offers. This section is provided by companies that are offerwalls, and they contain a wide variety of ways in which to earn Swagbucks.

The companies that provide the offerwalls are;

  1. Trialpay
  2. Offertoro
  3. Adgate Media
  4. Revenue Universe
  5. Peanut Labs
  6. Kiwi Wall
  7. Radium One
  8. Adscend Media
  9. Fyber
  10. Acorn

All of the above pay you for completing certain tasks, admittedly some of these tasks require you to spend money, but the majority that ask you of this will pay you more than your spend. For example at the time of writing this hub you can earn just under £8.00 worth of Swagbucks for depositing just £5.00 into a Coral betting account. Not all of the tasks will require you to do this, as some simply pay you to watch videos, whilst others will compensate you for downloading apps or completing website searches.

Please take care when completing offers if you are part of multiple websites, as some of the offerwalls can ban you if you attempt to complete an offer twice, unless it states that you can of course.

If you are looking to earn money online fast then this step is the quickest way to rack up the Swagbucks, allowing you to do that!

Step 5: Search

This is probably the most preferred ways to earn your money online, by most of the 'Swagbuckers'. As it is straight forward, quick and requires very little effort.

This step essentially pays you for searching your online queries via the Swagbucks search engine. I have on some occasions obtained 20p worth of Swagbucks for simply searching for something through their search engine rather than Google.

When you are searching, ensure that you are searching genuinely as I believe their algorithm picks up on this. If you mass search then you are less likely to earn Swagbucks for your searches. You can however increase your chance of earning by installing the Swagbucks toolbar.

Step 6: Play

If you are just looking to waste a bit of time whilst earning a little bit of money online, then this is the step for you.

Swagbucks will pay you SB for playing games! I mean seriously who thought that you could earn money online by playing games.

This step is short, sweet and fun, exactly how Swagbucks designed it to be!

Step 7: Swagbucks App

This step is a great way to earn money online passively, whilst you are earning your money online on your desktop.

The apps are virtually an extension of the watch section, and come once again in a variety of categories as follows;

  1. Movie Clips
  2. Indy Music
  3. LifeStylz
  4. Enternow
  5. Sportly
  6. SBTV
  7. Swagbucks App

All of the above with the slight exception of the Swagbucks app, will simplay pay you SB for watching videos, I personally just have my phone on charge on my desk with the videos running, making this a way to earn passively. Each app will allow you to earn 10SB maximum and can sometimes offer you bonus SB if you watch additional videos. This means that you can earn near enough 50p for doing virtually nothing!

The Swagbucks app does allow you to watch videos to the value of 10SB, whilst also allowing you to complete surveys and discover tasks.

I would certainly say that if you are going to use Swagbucks to earn money online, then do so by including the apps as part of your arsenal.

Bonus Ways to Earn

Swagbucks Toolbar Watch. This gives you 3SB per 100% meter fill. I have worked out that it you get approximately 4 - 5% per video watched, If you open this in a new window you can earn passively.

Swago Board. These run occasionally and look like a bingo board, they will have set tasks that you have to complete to fill the swago board. You can earn extra SB by completing a full board, or a smaller amount for completing diagonals or a line.

Spin & Win. Coincides with the swago board.
