The Best Niche Markets to Write To Earn Money Online

A successful how-to article should be short and to the point in answering the question that the reader is looking for. To maximize earning potential, it should be about 600 words long.

There are an infinite number of topics to choose from, but my niche subjects include:

  1. How to prepare food, bake or cook. If you can write recipes then use this form.
  2. How to fix, change, or repair things. Do-it-yourself articles are always popular.
  3. How to save, spend, invest, or get out of debt. All money-related subjects are well paid.
  4. How to care for sick children, relatives, or animals. Health articles are searched a lot.
  5. How to love; how to stay in or fight for a marriage or relationship.
  6. How to buy items at the best price.
  7. How to grow vegetables, plants, flowers and so on.
  8. How to rear animals for food or profit.
  9. How to emigrate, find a job, or write a CV or resume.
  10. How to earn; how to make money online at home.

Get Paid for Writing

Leave the reader of your article feeling satisfied with your answer to their question on 'How To …….'

All writers have their own interests that they love to write articles and blog posts about. They usually write on these particular subjects for the love of writing. Making money online from these articles would not be the writer’s first priority. They want visitors to read their articles because they too share their passion about this subject. I do this myself with certain articles I write.

My own articles I write about these subjects are usually very long about 3,000 to 4,000 words. I do very little keyword research on them because I do not want to be restricted by this when writing the article. I do make money from them but not as much as the articles I write that are targeted at the How To readers online. There are some rules that need to be followed in order for you to maximize the earning potential of these How To articles.

How to Earn Money Writing From Home

Answer the Reader's Questions

The reader has landed on your article to find out a specific solution to a problem they have. They are only interested in the answer. To keep Google happy I always try to write at least 500 to 700 words. Add a reasonable amount of photos and videos to the article too. If possible always use your own photos. This shows the reader you know exactly what you are talking about.

Tips and Rules

The How To article is a genre that is becoming very lucrative for making money online. The internet is now the first place most people go to when looking for answers to every day problems. This is where they know they will find a solution. They are reasonably easy to write once you get used to researching and creating them. You do not have to be an expert in any field to write about it when creating your How To articles.

SEO Research

You can do research online and then create your own unique article on the subject you have chosen. Organic traffic from search engines is important if you want to earn money online from writing articles. The words ‘how to ….’ are one of the most used on the search engines by people

I write my recipes under the How To article genre. How to make and How to bake are very popular search terms. All my recipes receive a constant stream of organic traffic from the search engines and I earn money from them.

Benefits of Using YouTube Videos

There are so many YouTube videos out there on all How To subjects that you will have many You Tube videos to choose from. People like to watch these videos because they see exactly how to fix a problem. How to fix a broken pipe, how to bake Irish Soda Bread, how to earn money by writing on Hubpages etc.

There are videos on You Tube for practically every how to question out there, the choice in endless.

Keep the Reader Interested

It is always better to include these videos in your How To article. The visitor to your article can click on the video and watch it without leaving your article. The reader gets what they want and you the writer also wins because the longer the reader stays on your page then Google like it too.

If Google likes it then they move you up the ladder of pages. The higher you are ranked the more readers you get and the more readers you get the more Google likes you so you move up higher again. If you decide to write these how to articles online you will be entering a very lucrative market. By organising yourself and creating a writing plan of your online writing goals you can build up a sizable collection of these how to articles.

What to Write About

The advice to new writers is always write what you know about. That is because this advice is sound. With How To articles it is the best place to start. If you are an expert either through your job, hobby or training then write your How To articles on this subject first. But do not stop there. As a writer you will be used to carrying out research for your other articles.

Once you have exhausted your own knowledge and expertise on a particular subject you can then decide on another subject to write your How To articles about. There really are so many subjects to write How To articles out there that you will not be stuck for an idea.

Niche Market

I believe this niche market of How To articles will continue to thrive. As a writer it is up to you to find the approach to writing these particular articles that get you noticed above others on the same subject. As a member of HubPages you have a few good advantages already. The software available at HubPages makes it very easy to write and produce an excellent How to article.

Adding photos, videos and links is easy. You can also add a poll that asks the reader if they found the article helpful and a comments box so the reader can leave comments about your article. This gives future readers thumbs up on your knowledge of this particular solution to the problem. Before you know it you will become an expert on the subject in the eyes of many internet readers.

How to Get Paid for Writing Online

Google Adsense ads on your How To article is how you make money writing online. There is an abundance of useful and expert advice from the Help Pages at this writing Site about SEO and other courses. Organic Traffic to your Articles from Search Engines is your Goal. You can learn here free from the experts on how to attract search engine traffic to your articles.

Then there are the other writers on Hubpages and their excellent articles on how to optimize your chances of writing the perfect article online. You can learn so much here by studying these methods that you can become an expert at writing articles in the correct format and style for the best Search Engine Optimization. So if you are serious about writing online and want to break into a very powerful market why not write a few 'How To' articles.

Hello Virginia, yes I agree that the garden articles do very well and I also get a lot of sales. I do not put any Amazon products on my recipes either because the sales are non existent and there are enough adverts on the site as it is.

I think you've identified the topics well. My garden pest topics get traffic and sales because people want a solution. Cooking isn't as productive. Most people want the recipe and off they go without buying anything.

Hello Farrah, yes there some articles I write about that do not earn me much money. I enjoy writing them so continue to do so. But I make sure to write short How To articles and recipes which are my best earners.

Awesome material for both new and veteran writers and Hubbers. I was actually looking for some additional writing related points to offer in the back of my new resource ebook. In Shut Up and Write, I have a whole section about Hubpages and how newbies can benefit from it. This detailed and well crafted hub is just one of many hubs that demonstrate to my readers what I mean about this site! You do this website proud :-)

Hello Nadine Mayyes you can write new hubs on the same subjects but coming from a different angle and then group them together under one name. That way at the end of your hub there will be two other ones you have written in that group in the boxes for your readers to click on.

You can change the titles of your hubs anytime, it is the URL you cannot change. When I change a title I make sure to leave the keywords from the URL in it. I then find I do get a surge of traffic for a few days.

Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment, I look forward to reading your new articles soon

I have bookmarked your article so I can later view the videos when I have more time. its a pity that I cannot change the titles of my old hubs and rewrite them, but then I might as well just write a new bub on the same topic but this time more on the How to...I will also share your hub on our authors Facebook page!

It does take time and hard work to earn money writing online. But once you have written quite a few good articles then they can start to make money for you every week.

The how to article is interesting to write and if you hit on the right subjects that are popular then you could see some great earnings.

I find these articles do very well as far as readers clicking the ads go so they earn me money. They are easy to write too especially if you are good at doing research and taking your own photos,

The Irish history articles here are read a lot and that is my main purpose with them. I used to get them published in magazines and get paid for them but the readership is not as good as online. When I do get the odd click it is good money though.

I would advice you to set up another account here on Hubpages though just for the history hubs. Also your new user name would be better with the word history and Irish in it. This seems to be the new thing to do to keep Google happy.

There are a lot of Irish writers here and many of them have excellent history hubs too.

Money can be earned here at HubPages but it takes time and a lot of writing. It is worth it though for those of us who love writing and want to get readers to our articles.

I love it thanks. I was going to start with reading your articles about Autism and Aspergers as these are mine and my son's conditions but as I am also trying to make some proper money out of my writing (a big ask I know!) this article caught my eye. I am now definitely going to put together some 'how to articles,' asap to add to my other HubPages Articles. I will be reading a lot more of your articles too. You are the first other Irish writer I have come across here also. I too have written historical articles about many events, would it be worth posting them here or would another site be better for those type of articles do you think? Thanks anyway and I'll be follow you.

I do very well with these types of articles. The short How to article is a good one to start your online writing career with. The amount of You Tube videos the writer can add to the article are numerous and the software that HubPages provides for its writers is very easy to use.

Thank you everyone for taking the time to leave a comment.
