John Tuttle is a young Catholic man, a content writer, and a blogger who has written on topics such as science, history, and entertainment.

The Internet is a vast arena of media: publications, podcasts, photography, blogs, videos, films, and much more. In this arena of news, entertainment, and socialization, there are a plethora of great platforms for creative writers to showcase their work and actually get seen. Personally, I love writing pretty much on any fictional or nonfictional topic. The websites mentioned in this article I have found in my many searches for places to write for online.

Niume - A Place for Absolutely Anyone to Blog about Nearly Anything

Niume claims itself to be a "collaborative blogging" site and even "the most creative space on the web." Up until recently, this website was rewarding its content creators for their work, though it was in very small amounts. Now the only compensation for posting on Niume is that you are guaranteed to be seen by several fellow Niumers. I will say that Niume states that creating a clean post is easy, and they are honest. It is extremely simple to type out articles. As a side note, photographs can take a bit of time to process and upload. But this is where I have done the majority of my blogging posts.

As a side note, photographs can take a bit of time to process and upload. But this is where I have done the majority of my blogging posts. There are numerous genres, which Niume calls "spheres," available for posting in. Examples of spheres include movies and TV, photography, art, literature, news, interesting, travel, culture, and others. The basic requirements for posting are at least five lines of text (which is set at a large font size) and one image or link to a Youtube/Vimeo video.

If Niume staff members like your published material enough, it could be "featured" for a week in the sphere it was posted in. When a post is "featured" on Niume, it means it is being put in a highlighted position under that sphere, potentially bringing it more attention and views. A number of my posts have been featured over the few months I have been using Niume. I have created 100+ articles and currently have 4800+ views overall. It is a very nice place to blog with no monetary compensation.

Scriggler - Where the Storytellers and Poets Go to Scribble

Scriggler is geared mainly toward stories, opinions, poetry, and even news. Once again, anyone is perfectly free to sign up and create a page which could be relevant to a range of topics. I have submitted at least one true short story as well as some poetry. I also published two other stories via Wattpad, yet another site which allows anyone to create works in genres such as fantasy, science fiction, nonfiction, and poetry.

But what I have found out is that Wattpad does not get nearly as many views per writing piece as Scriggler. I published the stories and poems on those sites in the same week. The stories on Wattpad are each under ten views. Whereas, each of the poems on Scriggler has over a hundred views. So I definitely suggest using Scriggler over Wattpad.

Travellerspoint - A Place for Travelers to Start Their Very Own Blog

There are many websites where articles about travel can be published. Findery is one such site. It is easy to create posts on Findery, and it is almost just as easy to create posts on Travellerspoint. But Travellerspoint is unique. Among several features, users can actually launch a personal travel blog through Travellerspoint, and blog posts will certainly be viewed by other people on Travellerspoint. This can be a good way to grow a reputation for travel blogging. So, if you are interested in travel writing, blogging with Travellerspoint is a good practice to pursue and get your work seen.

A Few Homes for Your Movie Review Writeups

There are two popular websites that I will suggest to you where you can write your reviews of films: Movie Quotes and More and IMDb. Movie Quotes and More is geared mostly towards movies of the current times, though you can write a review on pretty much any film. The Movie Quotes and More website tells contributors that the best reviews are featured on IMDb's "external critics review pages." But you can actually write a review on any movie, TV series, or TV show episode that you wish directly on IMDb, so long as you have an account. The Internet Movie Database (IMDb) is one of the largest websites about film entertainment and its actors in the world!

Need a Portfolio? Here is the Best Place.

I tried several portfolio websites, and majority of them just did not work out for me. I tried Journoportfolio, but I discovered after starting the process that if you did not upgrade (which costs a little moola) you were limited to only ten articles on your portfolio. I found this out after I had uploaded literally dozens of articles, and as a result, I was filled with dismay. After the short trial period at Journoportfolio I saw almost all of the links to my work disappear. I eventually found the perfect home for my portfolio: Contently. Contently is 100% free and, unlike other sites, there is NO limit to a number of links you can have in your portfolio.

Thank you very much for the compliment! You are the first person to comment on any of my Hubs! I do use Wordpress. It is a widely used blogging website, and it allows you to create your very own personalized blog for FREE! I would definitely try it out to see what you think.
