UK Sites Like Etsy

Sites like Etsy are springing up regularly now, so if you are a producer of hand-made items, then you might be looking to get your business online - and looking for sites like Etsy to quickly get your products online. Maybe you're looking to see if there are there any UK sites like Etsy you can sell through.

Once you've exhausted your local outlets of fairs, markets and possibly party plan, then maybe it's time you put your products out for the world to see.

Etsy is the largest company for selling handmade goods online, but they might not suit everybody's needs, sites like Etsy offer you different marketplaces and different countries to sell in. As a major US-based website, even though Etsy have a UK section for UK sellers, you might be interested to know that there are other websites like Etsy available to you - you might find that one of these online stores catering for the UK and European market offers you a better experience.

Many UK sellers on Etsy find that it's not easy for buyers to find goods made in the UK, the search functions don't enable it, so they're looking for UK sites like Etsy to enable their unique products to reach specifically UK buyers.

Alternatively, maybe you're already using Etsy to sell your goods and just want to spread your reach and start selling your handmade goods through other sites like Etsy and other shops like Etsy online.

Below are some other sites like Etsy, where you can sell your handmade goods online easily. If you know of any more, leave a comment and I can add them to the list. These other shops like Etsy might be even better for you.

Below are some other sites like Etsy, where you can sell your handmade goods online easily. If you know of any more, leave a comment and I can add them to the list.

Handmade crafts is a growth industry, with some real talent shining through. If you're in the UK, check out these sites like Etsy that are targetted at more local buyers and traffic.

Of course, some people are simply selling their handmade goods on ebay rather than trying to find UK sites like Etsy - because ebay has a larger reach of the general public. Sites like Etsy attract people who are actually looking to buy, so they provide more targetted traffic, but less chance of impulse buys like on ebay.

Buy Craft Supplies Using Paypal

You can buy craft supplies using Paypal by sourcing what you need on Etsy UK too - one business model is for suppliers to import goods from around the world and sell those craft supplies on Etsy, so you don't have to wait, or worry about duties and taxes on importing. Etsy helps a lot of handmade goods makers find just what they need and get it fast, using Paypal to pay for those goods and having confidence in what they're ordering.

UK Amazon Marketplace for Handmade Goods

In October 2015 Amazon invited existing Etsy sellers to sell through the new Amazon Handmade Marketplace - this is in the US only, through Amazon.com. We can expect that Amazon will roll this out to a UK Amazon Marketplace for handmade goods if they find the US market profitable.

In the first 9 months of operation, the US Etsy sellers were enticed with no fees until August 2016, so after that time we can see what Amazon do next!

I was rejected from not on the high street but since then took to my own website and etsy and sell over 1000 bespoke items a month. I would not rer apply to not on the high street out of principle even though some of my competitors who sell a quarter of the items i do are on there.

if you get rejected don't take it personally that your items are not good enough, prove them wrong. Etsy is by far the best out there and can't wait for zazzle to come to the UK.

        Thanks for your comment Zoe.

Websites like Etsy in the UK have really taken off - and Folksy has become massive. I saw the owner on the morning news the other week being interviewed about the explosion in the marketplace for handmade goods and he was very positive about it, having experienced solid growth from high quality sellers of UK handmade goods across all the crafts and arts.

I wanted to sell on Not on the High Street, but I had no idea their upfront charges were so high. I can understand that it means they only accept the best and I am working up to that. I have an Etsy shop at the moment and will open a Folksy one soon.

This is a great list, I'll share it with the foum I belong to. Thx

        Hi Tina

Thank you for taking the time to comment.

I had a look at ezebee and, while it is International, it's not a "UK sites like Etsy" as promised in the title :)

Their prices are in Euros, not GBP and it isn't solely for selling handmade goods.

Ezebee are also in Beta launch, so, overall, a UK seller wouldn't get as good a start to their ventures as UK-specific sites would give them.

Sorry, but they don't make the list.

        All the best

MISI is now under new ownership - so if you were with Misi in the past or have put it on the back burner it's worth checking out what the company's plans are for the future.

They have made some changes/improvements and their traffic has doubled in the last 3 weeks.

I think it's important for people to try all the sites if they can, to sell their handmade gifts online. Every site has a different audience and you won't know which one likes your style and gifts most until you've tried them all.

In the run up to Xmas, this is now the time to start planning Xmas sales - most people will sell more than half their yearly turnover just for to the Xmas shoppers.

Thanks for that, I hadn't spotted that Artfire isn't for the UK. This article was supposed to list UK sites like Etsy, to help UK people sell their goods online with the confidence you get when selling in your own country and currency.

I've removed artfire now as it's not a UK site like Etsy. I think I was fooled as it was priced in ££s.

Artfire is not a UK site. It's an american site just like etsy that allows UK sellers. You can't even search for UK sellers on the site. I knew a totally free service seemed too good to be true.
